Zwankendamme is a village located in the municipality of Bruges, in the province of West Flanders, Belgium. It is located in the northwestern part of the country, not so far from the Belgian coast and the North Sea.
Zwankendamme is a small village with a peaceful and rural atmosphere. It has a limited population and is known for its agricultural activities and open countryside. The village is surrounded by vast fields and farmland.
Although Zwankendamme is small, it does have some attractions and facilities. One of the striking features is the presence of a large power station, called the Centrale van Langerbrugge, located right next to the village. This power station provides the region with electricity.
Every year 2 fairs are organized for young and old. The first fair in the year is on Pentecost weekend and the second fair is usually in October.
Zwankendamme is located a short distance from the historic city of Bruges, which is known for its beautiful medieval architecture and water canals. The coastal towns of Blankenberge and Zeebrugge are also easy to reach from Zwankendamme.
